Christmas Eve Treats.

Merry Christmas, Everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. An unscheduled event took me to Georgia for a few days... So I was unable to get my third winter Red, White, and Black in before Christmas. You will see it though. I still do have a Christmas treat for you today! A little short film I made two years ago.

TV Watching Extravaganza! Pt. 6

One of my most favorite shows is actually coming to a close tonight. That show is Monk.

Yes, the series finale is tonight. And I feel bittersweet about it. It's been on since 2002 and has gone eight seasons.
Adrian Monk (Tony Shalhoub) was a brilliant detective for the San Francisco Police Department until his wife, Trudy, was killed by a car bomb in a parking garage, which Monk then believed was intended for him. Trudy's death led Monk to suffer a nervous breakdown. He was discharged from the force and became a recluse, refusing to leave his house for over three years. He was finally able to leave the house with the help of his nurse, Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram). The breakthrough allowed him to work as a private detective and a consultant for the homicide unit despite retaining limitations rooted in his obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), which had grown significantly worse after the tragedy.
Monk's compulsive habits are numerous, and a number of phobias compound his situation, such as his fear of germs, milk, ladybugs, harmonicas, heights, imperfection and risk. The OCD and plethora of phobias inevitably lead to very awkward situations and cause problems for Monk and anyone around him, as he investigates cases. These same personal struggles, particularly the OCD, are what aid him in solving cases such as his sharp memory, specific mindset and attention to detail.
Captain Leland Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) and Lieutenant Randall "Randy" Disher (Jason Gray-Stanford) call on Monk when they have trouble with an investigation. Stottlemeyer is often irritated by Monk's disorder, but respects his friend and former colleague's amazing observational abilities, as does Disher. Ever since childhood, Monk's obsessive attention to detail allowed him to spot tiny discrepancies, find patterns, and make connections that others often fail to make. Monk continues to search for information about his wife's death, the one case that he has been unable to solve.
Sharona decided to re-marry her ex-husband and move back to New Jersey, and Natalie Teeger (Traylor Howard) was hired as Monk's new assistant—a widow and mother of an eleven-year-old daughter.
I love this show it makes me laugh, it makes me cry. It's perfect. Tony Shalhoub has grown to be one of my favorite actors. His character of Monk is hilarious and endearing. I know the show is over now but, you have to watch this show. You won't be sorry.

Merry Christmas!

That's right, I said it! Because it's that time of year again!
Okay, at this time of year I typically ask everyone I know to completely forget anything I said in October. Because I know I am going to contradict myself when I say.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE TIME OF YEAR!
October, I hope you can understand. I love you so much. Nothing can replace you. It's just, now that Christmas time is here, I have other stuff on my mind... Okay...? ... October, please stop crying.
So anyways, I love this month. I love the crisp cold air. I love the music. I love traditions!
One of my favorite traditions at this time of year is going to get a tree with my family. Not many people I know get REAL trees.

What are some of your favorite traditions?

Okay, so I have decided, I will make more than a few Red, White, and Black's this month. Seeing as how this is an awesome month... I have decided, I want your suggestions again. Any winter themed idea you can think of. It can be Christmas themed if you want...
I want to get a bunch in before the new year. Thanks!

And so, to kick off the month, I give you... Cartoons! My favorite Christmas cartoons!

And now, on a more serious note: The Little Match Girl.

You must watch this. I watch this every year.

I love when she sees her mother. So sad.

So I hope you guys are as happy as am for this coming holiday season!

Happily,
Mason.
